Art Cooley, President & General Manager of WHKP started his career in sales with WHKP in 1957 after graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill and a stint in the US Army. He has been active in local civic activities during his 57 years with WHKP. Daughters Karen Marshall of Phoenix, AZ and Kimberly Morin of Marietta, Georgia are now the majority stockholders of the station. Other than WHKP, Art's interests include visiting grandsons Brody, now a sophomore at Ole Miss, and Eli, a middle grade student along with granddaughters Lilian and Isabella. Art also enjoys spending some 'winter weeks' in sunny Arizona, and enjoys 'condominium living' just outside Hendersonville in Laurel Park that overlooks a 22 - mile vista high above the Hendersonville Country Club where he continues struggling to break 90.
