Henderson County's new REGULATION REVIEW ADVISORY COMMITTEE is in place and will be going to work at their first meeting at 6:30pm Thursday April 4. The committee's meeting, which is open to the public, will be held in the Community Meeting Room (Room 219) of the Historic Court House .
The new committee was created by the county commissioners, at the suggestion and urging of county commissioner Grady Hawkins, to come up with recommendationson how county regulations, ordinances, policies, etc. can be modified to be more "business friendly". It is hoped this can not only encourage local businesses and improve the economy, but hopefully also improve the local employment situation.
Bert Lemkes, Vice President of Van Wingerden International in Mills River, was appointed to chair the new committee.
Items on the agenda for their April 4th meeting include a self introduction of the committee members, who are: Larry Baber, Jeffrey Bowen, James Clarke, Jay Egolf, Kenneth Gordon, James Gilbert Ayers, David Harold Hill, Jeff Justus, Nathan Ray Kennedy, Richard Lawrence Kranker, Renee Kumor, and Matt Matteson.
The purpose and scope of the new committee will be discussed as well as a possible on-line survey the committee may undertake.
Again, the meetings of the new REGULATORY REVIEW ADVISORY COMMITTEE will be open to the public.
