CHRISTMAS AT CONNEMARA COMING UP DECEMBER 12TH
The Carl Sandburg Home will hold Christmas At Connemara Saturday December 12th from 10:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. according to spokesperson Janine Donovan. She told WHKP News that Richard Sackett will play the guitar at 10:00 A.M. followed by a portrayal of former Slave Sojourner Truth, and she will perform music, dancing, and stories, and there will be audience participation.
Donovan said that Blackfeather will be on hand at 12:00 P.M. to tell Cherokee holiday stories. She said that Debbie Jennings will be there at 1:00 P.M. playing the Celtic Harp, and there will be other performers as well, ending with a performance of the Sothern Appalachian Chamber Singers at 3:00 P.M.
Donovan said that there will only be admission if people want to take a house tour. She said the house will be decorated just as it would have been when the Sandburgs lived there, and tours are $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for seniors, and children 15 and under are free. She said there will be a shuttle available during the event.
