LOTS OF PEOPLE INTERESTED IN HOME WEATHERIZATION  PROGRAM

     A lot of people are applying for the home weatherization  program according to David White with Western Carolina Community Action.  He told WHKP News that a lot of the money for the program came from the Recovery and Reinvestment Act.  He said that people receive the service based on the number of people in their home, and the income, and people that are interested need to call Rhonda Maybin at 693-1711.

     White said that the program includes doing a test on homes to see how much leakage they have and how much heat they are losing, and then taking steps to recover the lost heat such as wrapping furnaces, and weather stripping, among other things.  He said that after they have made the improvements, they do another test to see how much the improvements actually helped.
