Library Book Sale Starts This Weekend | Print |  E-mail

The Friends of the Henderson County Public Library (FOL) will again host its annual book sale during September beginning the weekend after Labor Day.  It will be the 30th year for this annual event.  All proceeds go to the Henderson County Library to fund and enhance library programs.

More than 100,000 donated items will be available for sale, all priced at a small fraction of their original cost.  Most of the books are priced below $5, and there are more than 50 different categories to choose from. Besides books, there are CDs, DVDs, videos, books on tape, and vinyl (collectible) LPs for sale.

The public sale will begin on Saturday, September 11, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  It will continue on Sunday, September 12, from 1 to 5 p.m.  All materials will be half price the following Saturday and Sunday, September 18 and 19, at the same hours.

The sale will climax on Saturday, September 25, where everything will be $5 per furnished bag.  Hours are again from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Payments throughout the sale may be made by cash or check only.

A special preview day is available for FOL members on Friday, September 10, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Memberships are available at the door for $6 per individual or $10 per family/couple.

Location of the sale is 1940 Spartanburg Highway (US 176), south of Downtown Hendersonville next to Dollar General.  Free parking is available at the site. There also will be a free shuttle to and from a nearby church, except on Sundays. For information call 828-697-4725.
