SHERIFF CHARLIE MCDONALD ON THE LAS VEGAS SHOOTINGS:"THERE ARE NO 100 PER CENT GUARANTEES"

PRESIDENT TRUMP HAS ORDERED THAT FLAGS BE FLOWN AT HALF MAST THROUGH WEDNESDAY.

THE WORST MASS SHOOTING IN AMERICAN HISTOY

SCORES DEAD, HUNDREDS INJURED

Flad

A strong advocate of being prepared and of being aware of the people and circumstances around us, Henderson County Sheriff Charlie McDonald today (Monday) called the shootings in Las Vegan Sunday night “a horrible tragedy”.

When asked how we can protect ourselves and prevent this type of tragedy from occurring, Sheriff McDonald pointed out here are “no 100 per cent guarantees”.

Again he emphasized being aware of the people and the circumstances around us at all times, and be willing to report anything suspicious to the authorities.

Pointing out that such horrible events tend to feed off each other, McDonald said the times are changing, and the more of these horrible events that happen the more they are likely to occur.

He warned that we must be very careful in our reaction to such tragedies. Over protecting ourselves, or trying to, he says could lead to a “police state” and no one in a free society like ours wants that, he said.

McDonald says the shootings in Los Vegas underscore the need for public and private co-operation in being diligent and doing what we can to protect ourselves and our communities.

And he points out we are fortunate and unique in our situation here, but again---the times are changing.
