Henderson County Public Library to Host Friends of the Oklawaha Greenway

Hendersonville, NC – November 2, 2017

On Wednesday, November 15 at the Fletcher Library and Monday, December 4 at the Etowah Library, Katie Breckheimer of the Friends of the Oklawaha Greenway will speak on the benefits of greenways to communities. Both talks will begin at 5:30 p.m., lasting about 30 minutes with time for questions.

“Why Greenways?" is an informational talk using photos and supportive data to explain the importance of greenways in promoting economic growth, building community, protecting the environment, and cutting health care costs. The presentation also includes maps of three new Greenway proposals in different parts of Henderson County. The Friends of the Oklawaha Greenway is a group of local organizations and area residents who work to protect, promote, and expand the Oklawaha Greenway.

The Fletcher Library is located at 120 Library Road, 828- 687-1218. The Etowah Library is located at 101 Brickyard Road, 828-891-6577. Both events are free and open to the public with no registration required.
