The City of Hendersonville has commenced construction of Phase 2 of a project to improve Main Street. This phase of work will affect Main Street between Third and Fifth Avenues. As with last year’s project, the work will include reconstruction of concrete sidewalks, asphalt pavement, curb and gutter, and curb ramps, and rehabilitation and addition of new decorative streetlights, street trees, and storm drainage. The City has recently contracted with Trace and Company to complete much of this work, with City crews also providing support.
All businesses remain open during construction, and while certain parking areas will be blocked off during construction, ample parking remains throughout the downtown area. Customers are encouraged to continue to patronize their favorite Main Street businesses. Contractors and city staff are working hard to keep disruptions to a minimum and to maintain access to stores and residences throughout the project.
