Hendersonville Rainfall This January Totals Almost 9 Inches

Hendersonville received almost double our average total rainfall this January.

Daily weeather observations and rainfall measurements at WHKP, Hendersonville’s official National Weather Service observation station, showed a total of 8.99 inches of rain this January. The long-term average for January in Hendersonville is 4.64 inches.

Hendersonville measured rainfall in excess of one inch (1.23) on January 16^th; and im excess of two inches om January 18^th (2.10 inches) and January 31 (2.40 inches).

WHKP weather records show Hendersonville received rainfall on 15 of January’s 31 dsys.

Many parts of Western North Carolina recorded record rainfall totals this January, in many cases well in excess of 10 inches for the month.

The long-term average for February in Hendersonville is 4.64 inches …and on the first five days of February, no rainfall was measured…with only a few light scattered snow flurries.
