Henry "Tippy" Creswell joined WHKP in 1978 shortly after he left Winston-Salem State University. He worked first in WHKP Sales, then as a programmer for WHKP's sister station, WKIT, and later as the control operator for the 'Larry King Show'. Now Tippy's duties are gathering News and Board Operator.  He also does the Sunday Christian music show on occasion, and co-hosts the local high school basketball broadcasts.  Local sports fans will remember Tippy's basketball commentary with Mike Edney and the late Charlie Renfrow and 'Cactus Pete' Williams. Others will recall when Tippy and his Hendersonville High School Bearcat teammates captured the 3A State Basketball Championship in 1970. Tippy is married to the lovely Allene Waters Creswell and they have two sons and four grandchildren.
