On Monday, May 12, 2025, Rebecca Lynn Luna, 43, from Hendersonville, NC, pled guilty to one count of
trafficking in Fentanyl and two counts of trafficking Methamphetamine, along with Possession of a
Controlled Substance in a Jail, Felony Breaking and Entering, Larceny after Breaking and Entering,
Possession of Stolen Goods, and Felony Conspiracy. The Honorable Superior Court Judge Robert C. Ervin
sentenced Luna pursuant to a plea agreement to 180 minimum and 241 months maximum, announced
R. Andrew Murray, District Attorney for Henderson, Polk, and Transylvania Counties.

On Friday, March 1, 2024, according to court records and Monday’s plea hearing, the Hendersonville
Police Department was dispatched to the Cascade Mountain Resort in reference to stolen property
located at the Resort/Motel. The Detectives determined the stolen items were associated with Rebecca
Luna.

During their investigation, Luna requested to go to the restroom. Luna gave law enforcement
permission to search her prior to using the restroom. Law enforcement found two bags containing
trafficking levels of Methamphetamine (33.66 grams) and Fentanyl (6.94 grams) on her person. Just
three days later, on Monday, March 4, 2024, Luna was out on bond when Hendersonville Police
Department encountered Luna on Main Street in downtown Hendersonville. While law enforcement
served an outstanding warrant on Luna, they noticed drug paraphernalia in her vehicle. Luna was then
placed in custody on the outstanding warrant and transported to the Henderson County Detention
Center, where she was thoroughly searched.

The search yielded a trafficking amount of
Methamphetamine (85.58 grams) contained inside her body. Finally, on Wednesday, March 13, 2024,
Luna spoke to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office and admitted to breaking into and taking items
from multiple storage units located at 1931 Spartanburg Hwy, Hendersonville, NC, after conspiring with
others. Henderson County Sheriff’s Office was able to locate and return many of the stolen items.

The District Attorney’s Office skillful handling of the prosecution and sentencing of the defendant
ensured she would not be poisoning the streets of Henderson County, or anywhere else for that matter,
for many years to come. This case represents how Law Enforcement and the District 42 Prosecutorial
