Mills River Named One of "Ten Best Towns for Jobs in North Carolina"
Zippia.com, an online employment aid, recently released their "Top 10" lists for employment in North Carolina. Henderson County's own Mills River was ranked at #9 for the "Ten Best Towns for Jobs in North Carolina".
According to the release, the list was complied by comparing towns and cities with a minimum population of 5,000 people. The group was then split into two groups: cities over 20,000 people and those between 5,000 and 20,000. The criteria used to determine rankings was current unemployment rate,unemployment rate change year over year, current median household income, and median household income change year over year.
Mills River ranked #9 on the list of cities and towns between 5,000 and 20,000 with a population of 7,079, a median income of $63,387 and an unemployment rate of 3.5%.
