Some good looking motorcycles were very plentiful in the 7th Avenue District on Saturday for a number of good causes & reasons.

Many riders were there for a good cause, some were there for show, but on a day when the weather was just about picture perfect, all seemed to be having a great time.

Motorcycles were set up and on display by noon at Southern Appalachian Brewery for its Meltdown Vintage Motorcycle Show. Then, a little after noon time a number of bikes rolled down 7th, and made their way to Maple Street.

Meltdown Vintage Motorcycle Show

The annual Meltdown Vintage Motorcycle Show is in its eighth consecutive year at Southern Appalachian Brewery.

“Every year, we pick a different nonprofit,” said Kelly Cubbin, who co-owns the brewery with her husband, Andy. “This year, it’s the Boys & Girls Club of Henderson County.”

Last year, the event raised some $5,000 in charity donations, according to Cubbin.

In the eight years the show has been held, Kelly Cubbin said it keeps growing by leaps and bounds of what the couple had envisioned.

“During the eight years, this event has exceeded all our expectations,” she said. Live music was proudly provided by Pleasure Chest and The Krektones, and food trucks were easily accessed. The day also marked the special release of the spring seasonal beer, Ton-up Pale Ale.
It also marked the first day Southern Appalachian Brewery was using their outdoor stage thanks to the sunny weather and clear skies.
