An 84-year old pilot walked away refusing medical treatment after his small plane clipped some trees and power lines just off Lanning Road near Edneyville Thursday afternoon.

The Edneyville Fire Chief said the pilot had a small landing steip nearby, and the plane was registered to Irland Brown.

Some ladies who live nearby heard the crash and went to help. The small plane had been hanging in the trees and power lines then fell to the ground, after which the pilot pushed the door open, got out and made it to his neighbor’s mailbox.

That’s the second small plane incident with no injuries in a week near Hendersonville. One made an emergency landing last Saturday on the seventh fairway at the Hendesonville County Club.
