Plans changed today regarding how money from the American Rescue Plan -- awarded during the pandemic is handed out.

In Henderson County, $22.8 million of the plan was allocated to 14 different projects -- and Wednesday, May 17, six of those allocations were revised.

Infusion therapy projects at Pardee and other healthcare facilities, self-insurance reimbursements, Stryker systems, a sports complex and Apple Valley housing all faced some changes with the money they initially received.

News 13 spoke with officials in Henderson County to hear why these millions of dollars were moved around, seemingly overnight.

"What has occurred is that we’ve had some projects move forward and they’ve come in under cost, so what we’ve done today is reallocate those funds to other places to ensure that we allocate all that money by the end of 2024, which is a requirement of those dollars," said Christopher Todd, Henderson County Business and Community Development director. "It also makes sure that every dollar that comes to Henderson County is spent right here."

While they did allocate this money, they have not added any more projects to the list.

They have put around $450,000 into funding the apple valley affordable housing complex and the self-insurance reimbursement fund.

They also did not receive any more money from the American rescue plan to help with this refunding.
