Construction has officially begun on the Berkeley Park Sports Complex in Hendersonville.
Due to construction work, the park is currently closed to the public.
Once finished, the sports complex will add six tennis courts, four soccer fields and a softball field to the park. The historic Berkeley Mills Ballpark, which was built in 1946, is also being preserved.
Henderson County officials say the project is expected to take 18 months to complete.
