HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — A popular grocery store that closed after being severely damaged by Hurricane Helene has set a reopening timeline of MARCH, 2026.

The Fresh Market on Greenville Highway in Hendersonville was temporarily closed in September 2024 after the location suffered severe flooding in the wake of Hurricane Helene. The grocery store is a popular spot in Henderson County, and many shoppers have wondered about a timeline for a renovation.

Renovations are underway.

There is good news in the works for Hendersonville. The store is reopening soon, and this time, it will be even bigger.

"The Hendersonville store is slated to reopen by the end of Q1 next year[...] We are adding additional square footage to the renovated store from the old Stein Mart," said Sam Wroblewski with The Fresh Market via email.

According to Crystal Lyda, the county's permit and inspection director, the grocery store is expanding into the adjacent former Stein Mart space, bringing the total store to slightly over 28,000 square feet.

Be on the lookout for a new, larger Fresh Market in Hendersonville to open by March 2026.
