Henderson County sheriff’s detectives arrested four women and seized 15 gambling machines and $9,872 in cash after executing a search warrant at a business in the Flat Rock area on Sept. 16.

The search warrant was the result of an investigation triggered by neighbors’ complaints of illegal gambling occurring at a business.

Sheriff's deputies with the Advanced Criminal Enforcement team, with assistance from the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Division and Homeland Security Investigations, worked the case. The location has a documented history of illegal gambling, armed robbery, breaking and entering and multiple felony drug violations, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
Arrested were:

Janet Taylor, charged with manufacturing or selling slot machine, operating video gaming machine, operating/possessing slot machine
Mary Braly, charged with manufacturing or selling slot machine, operating video gaming machine, operating/possessing slot machine
Sherry Waters, charged with manufacturing or selling slot machine, operating video gaming machine, operating/possessing slot machine.
Mary Moffitt, charged with manufacturing or selling slot machine, operating video gaming machine, operating/possessing slot machine.
