Henderson County Sheriff's Office Investigates Suspicious Death and Makes Arrest in Clear Creek Community
Henderson County, N.C. - On the early morning of Thursday, July 6, 2023, the Henderson County Sheriff's Office responded to a call for service on Regency Loop Dr in the Clear Creek Community, regarding a death investigation.
Upon their arrival, Sheriff's Deputies discovered the body of Patricia Moniz, an 82-year-old Henderson County resident. Recognizing the potential gravity of the situation, the deputies immediately classified the circumstances surrounding her death as suspicious, triggering an intensified investigation.
The Henderson County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit was called to the scene to conduct the investigation. Through a meticulous and extensive examination of the evidence, the detectives successfully located and apprehended Amber Renee Nelson, a 35-year-old resident of Hendersonville.
Nelson has been formally charged with the following crimes:
- Felony Murder
- Felony Larceny of a Motor Vehicle.
Presently, Amber Renee Nelson is being held without bond in the Henderson County Detention Facility. The initial court appearance for Nelson is scheduled to take place on Friday, July 7, 2023, in Henderson County.
