Lane Closure Necessary on I-26 Green River Bridge
Continuous closure is in progress for bridge joints

FLAT ROCK – One lane of Interstate 26 West is closed at the Green River bridge through Wednesday morning.

NCDOT contract crews from Flatiron Dragados are installing bridge joints during the closure which is necessary for the safety of drivers and construction workers. All lanes will open by 7 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

A similar operation on I-26 East is scheduled to begin Sunday night to facilitate bridge joint installation on the eastbound span and run from Aug. 2-5.

These operations are part of a $27 million project to widen and rehabilitate the Peter Guice Memorial Bridge. NCDOT engineers anticipate crews completing operations on the bridge this fall.
