HENDERSON COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — Anyone missing a goat again? No kidding, within a month, the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office announced that a second stray goat was caught and it’s heading to auction if not claimed.
In a social media post on Aug. 6, the sheriff's office said Henderson County Animal Enforcement picked up a male black goat in Black Mountain. The owner was given a 72-hour warning to call the sheriff’s office before the goat’s scheduled auction on Aug. 18.
The black goat was initially spotted with other goats, including a big brown one with horns. However, when deputies showed up, the captured goat's friends took off.
On Aug. 13, the sheriff's office announced online that a brown goat with large horns was captured.

The goat is scheduled for auction at the main entrance of the Henderson County Animal Services Center at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25, citing NC General Statute 68-20. The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office said the owner has until Tuesday to call them “or he’s getting a new address.”
