Hendersonville, North Carolina — September 02 2026 — Local eatery The Baker's Box will host a visit from America’s Best Restaurants (ABR), a national media and marketing company, for an on-site visit aspart of the ABR Roadshow.
America’s Best Restaurants travels the country spotlighting independent, locally-owned restaurants that make a positive impact on their communities. During the visit, the ABR Roadshow team will highlight The Baker's Box on-camera, featuring an extensive interview with George Nicholas about the restaurant's special place in the community.
The Baker's Box is a testament to the journey of George and Mara Nicholas, who met while studying at Johnson and Wales University in Charleston, South Carolina. With roots in the culinary arts and baking, they honed their skills in esteemed establishments across the country before returning to Asheville, where they began a family and eventually launched their beloved bakery. The bakery is known not only for its delicious homemade breads, desserts, and breakfast pastries but also for its imaginative atmosphere featuring a running train, over 200 Lego sets, and life-sized characters from pop culture.
Community involvement is at the heart of The Baker's Box. The Nicholas family supports a special needs baseball team and contributes to various local charities, including St. Gerard's House of Literacy and Hendersonville Elementary School. "We're honored to be featured by ABR. Our mission has always been to fuel imagination and comfort the soul by bringing together the joy of Legos, the nostalgia of pop culture, and the warmth of honest, homemade food," shared George Nicholas.
The menu at The Baker's Box boasts standout items, and the episode will feature popular dishes such as the Turkey Pen Panini, the Iron Man Burger, and the enticing dessert case. Each dish is crafted with care, highlighting their signature sauce and homemade ingredients.
America’s Best Restaurants will be on-site at The Baker's Box on November 11, 2026. The public and press are welcome to attend.
